Kwaw Kese Mounts Campaign Against Drugs from Prison

In as much as I wish not to run commentary on this said campaign as pushed by MUSIGA, I think this is the best approach by the Union to somehow appeal to the right authorities and make things seem very right for leniency on the brother. What do you think? According to a new joint statement released by the Musicians Union of Ghana and the management of the embattled artist, Hiplife Artiste, Kwaw Kese, has begun a massive campaign against the use of narcotic drugs by the youth after he was arrested a couple of weeks ago in Kumasi for smoking a substance that has been confirmed as ‘Indian Hemp” in public. A portions of the statement reads; Kwaw Kese is ready for ‘Say No To Drugs Campaign’ as is evident in his support to Prisons and outreach programs each year.” He challenges the youth of Ghana “to be positive, be patriotic and to do all they can to follow their dreams,” the statement further said. Just like I shared sometime ago about ignorant dudes going about with a free Kwaw Kese movement, the statement also called on Ghanaians to desist from the Free Kwaw Kese movement that gained grounds on social media since that will be prejudicial in Kwaw Kese’s quest for Justice.” As one of the very few people to have had the chance to visit Kwaw Kese, I knew how the brother felt about that movement. “We are therefore calling on all parties to desist from making further statements and embarking on campaigns such as #FreeKwawKesse et al in a bid to support Kwaw Kese. On the contrary, these activities along with the heightened media coverage only go to worsen the plight of Kwaw. With the full confidence in we have in Ghana’s Legal System, the Police and Prison Service we passionately make this plea,” it said. Kwaw Kese reappears in court on Monday December 22 2014. - See more at: http://www.djmarcusgh.blogspot.com
